Who Is In Young Justice?
From a reliable source, I heard that Peter David was in a chat with Byrne, and that some answers came forth.  The line up will still begin with Robin as brains, Superboy as PR hound, and Impulse as well, there. After that, expect Arrowette and Wonder Girl, and probably CM3 (during a brief stint when Superboy quits, then gets ticked off that he was replaced so quickly). According to this source, Damage is a remote possibility, and possibly Argent, but not both. And don't expect Free, the character created for Young Justice: The Secret, to be charter member of the team (if a member at all).

Peter David on Taking Over Young Justice ...
Peter posted this on the DC Universe newsgroup about his taking over Young Justice:

"Todd decided against doing the monthly book for reasons of his own, and I was approached to take it on. If they had said to Todd, 'We don't want you on the series; we're asking Peter David,' I would never have taken it on. I would have said 'If Todd still wants the gig, it's his.' I endeavor not to step over the bodies of other writers. For instance, when Chris Claremont was forced to leave X-Men, I was offered the dialoguing gig.  I turned it down."

There you have it, straight from PAD.

Larsen To Take Over Aquaman!
As of issue #50, the fate of the sea king now rests in the hands of Erik Larsen (The Savage Dragon). Also, we can say goodbye to Califore's awesome undersea pencils. The new artist will be Eric Battle. Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning will be taking over the creative reins of Aquaman for #46-49.

Young Justice: Todd Dezago Out -- Peter David In!
Rumors about Todd Dezago leaving Young Justice appear to be true. The circumstances are anyone's guess, but Mike Doran (Mania's Daily Newsarama) posted this story about the change late on 3/10/98:

DC editor Eddie Berganza today confirmed a creator change on the upcoming YOUNG JUSTICE ongoing series starring Superboy, Robin, and Impulse scheduled to debut later this year. According to Berganza, writer TODD DEZAGO is no longer attached to the ongoing series. DeZago will still be the writer for YOUNG JUSTICE: THE SECRET, the one-shot that will be part of July's GIRL FRENZY "5th week" event, and YOUNG JUSTICE: WORLD WITHOUT GROWN-UPS, the 2 issue prestige mini-series prestige mini-series immediately preceding the ongoing. But when YJ the monthly series debuts soon after, penciler TODD NAUCK is currently scheduled to be joined by fan-favorite writer PETER DAVID. No further details are available at this time, but Newsarama hopes to have comments from DC, David, and more information soon...

Supergirl and the Legion of Super Heroes?
According to Tom McCraw, there's a chance that Supergirl might get involved in the next Superboy/Legion of Super Heroes crossover. And with Mike McAvennie editing all those books now, we just might get to see the girl of Steel meet her post-Crisis counterpart, Andromeda.

Where There's Fire, There's ...
Not necessarily Smoke, according to Young Justice penciler Todd Nauck. The new character appearing in Young Justice: The Secret will not be Smoke, the character leaked a little while ago, but a character of Todd's design.  Find out more and see a preview sample in Todd's interview.

Once More With Tangent!
From Newsarama. The Tangent universe will be back July 5 as a fifth week event. Returning titles include Flash, Joker (written by Young Justice scribe Todd Dezago), Green Lantern, and Nightwing (written and penciled by John Ostrander -- with Jan Duursema). New titles will include the big guns Power Girl (written by Ron Marz), Superman, Batman (written and drawn by Tangent guru Dan Jurgens), Wonder Woman (written by Peter David), and JLA. Peter David promises that take on the Tangent Wonder Woman will be so bizarre that he doesn't want to comment on it yet.

Teens to Titans: Bridging the Gap!
Devin Grayson and Phil Jimenez will collaborate on a three-issue miniseries that will bridge the gap between Teen Titans #24 (the final issue) and the new Titans series written by Grayson. Jimenez will not be the regular penciler for the Titans series, however.

Byrne's Wonder Woman Replacement Announced!
Eric Luke (Dark Horse's Ghost) will be the new writer of Wonder Woman after John Byrne leaves after issue #136. Look for Yanick Paquette (Xena, Warrior Nun Areala, JLA: Tomorrow Woman) to take over as artist.

The Tales of the Green Arrow(s)?!
According to Newarama, Kevin Smith (filmmaker and soon-to-be writer of Marvel's Daredevil) will take over Green Arrow sometime in the future (issues shipping late this year or early next year). He plans to cover the lives of the "Green Arrow(s)." Hmmm.  Ollie, you think?

Sure, But Will Cassie Be There?
Also according to Newarama, TOPPS has confirmed a crossover between Xena and Wonder Woman. Gasp! Does this mean a brawl between the sidekicks too?

Superboy Gets Hexed!
According to CSN's (Comic Shop News) CSNsider and some RTT newshounds, Superboy #54 will introduce a new character called Grokk the Living Gargoyle and see the debut of a new female character named Hex, whose relationship to Jonah Hex is well, kind of strange. Apparently she is Jonah Hex. Also, Kesel is interested in exploring the clone issues with Superboy, and of course, don't forget to be around when (as Kesel jokingly teases) he kills the Kid in #75. For a killer interview with Kesel, check out the breaking news section of the Unofficial Superboy Web Site.

DC Newest Teen Team!
Devin Grayson has revealed to both RTT and CSNsider that she will debut a new teen team, tentatively called Project W, in the DCU. The five-member group will spend six issues traveling around on a road trip through the DCU. For more info, check out the RTT's exclusive email interview with Grayson.

Robin and Spoiler an Item?!
Did you read the Wizard Batman Special? According to it, little Timmy Drake gets a chance to explore his growing attraction to Stephanie Brown, aka Spoiler. Expect their fling to last about a year while Ariana takes a back seat in Tim's hormones, if not his heart. In more Robin news, expect a new villain to appear who is either one of Tim's classmates or teachers. And a new student will show up to make life difficult for Tim and Ives.

If Teens Ruled the World?!
According the Wizard Batman Special, a new Young Justice character will appear in her own one-shot before Young Justice starts. Look for JLA: World Without Grown-ups to appear this summer, written by Todd Dezago, and penciled by Humberdo Ramos (world without adults part) and Mike McKone (world without kids part).  Basically, some kid with the power to make his dream come true splits the world in two, creating an all-kids world and an all-adults world, and it's up to Robin, Impulse, and Superboy to keep the kids from endangering themselves.

Women of the DCU Chat!
According to the DC Online Newsletter, DC has started a Women of the DCU chat Wednesday nights from 7-8 EST. Way cool, huh? Now there's a place to chat with creators like Devin Grayson (Catwoman, Titans) and Phil Jimenez (Wonder Woman: Donna Troy) about the super heroines of the DCU. And let's not forget our favorite little underaged heroines ...

Anarky Goes Monthly!
It's official now. That misunderstood villain you hate to love, Anarky, will have his own ongoing series, written by Alan Grant, and penciled by Norm Brayfogle. Look for it an the fall.

Preboot vs. Postboot Legionnaires!
According to the Legion chat on AOL, legionnaires from several eras of the preboot will make appearances in Legionnaires #61 and Legion of Super Heroes #105.

The Return of the Original Titans!
To all who've been clamoring for a return of the true titans of yesteryear, your dreams may be coming true. When Devin Grayson takes the creative reins from Dan Jurgens later this year, expect a major shake-up in the roster. Grayson's being tightlipped about the final lineup, but rumor has it that readers can expect to see Tempest, Nightwing, Donna Troy, Arsenal, and possibly Jesse Quick. Also look forward to seeing quite a bit of Nightwing in the pages of the new, monthly series for Birds of Prey, by Chuck  Dixon, Greg Land, and Drew Geraci.

This Year's DC Annuals!
Todd Dezago will write a 10-page Impulse story for this year's annual.  There will be three themes for the annuals this year: 80 Page Giants, 3-D Issues, and Ghost Stories.

Don't Miss These Back Issues!
Can't wait until the upcoming JLA: World Without Grown-ups?  Don't worry.  You don't have to.
Dig through the back issues box to find copies of Legion of Superheroes #99 and #100.  Young Justice makes its first appearance (unofficially, of course) as Robin, Impulse, and Superboy lend a hand to help the Legion defeat C.O.M.P.U.T.O.  And I hope you didn't miss Unlimited Access #3 and #4. The team makes a second appearance, this time joined by Wonder Girl and Captain Marvel Jr., to hold their own against the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.
